Focuses on basics of radioactivity and impact on human body, how to measure radioactive exposures, dosimeters, procedures and equipment to measure radioactivity, discussion of incidents and accidents (how to prevent and respond) and best practices of radiographers and companies. Specific focus is placed on how to create an individualized radiation protection program, the RSO’s role in compliance, RAM licensure, and how to administer and manage programs. Meets NDT IRSP and NRC requirements. Certificates awarded to those scoring 70% or higher on comprehensive exam. 4 days of instruction.

DANGEROUS GOODS TRANSPORT – DOT - HAZMAT - IATA (Classroom)

NEW OPTION - Course reviews in detail the regulations governing shipping of radioactive materials. Content presents visual examples of packaging, labels, placards, and forms necessary to meet requirements. Emergency response and procedures also included. A thorough discussion of radioactive limit amounts and handling containers during transport helps prepare the worker for performing the job tasks safely. Meets IATA, DOT, NRC, FAA, 49CFR Part 171 – 180, 10CFR Part 30.34 & Part 30.41, and 10CFR Part 71 requirements. Certificates awarded to those scoring 70% or higher on the comprehensive exam.
